Silent Questions

4. Empathy is when you can put yourself in another persons shoes. You can feel what they feel in life’s’ many situations, let’s face it life’s never perfect. Just when things seem good there’s another surprise. You never really can be prepared so when people are having hardships remember that it could happen to you.

5. Justice in my terms is the fulfillment of repetition or punishment  deserved to the person who committed a crime. I think that justice is not always served right; rarely is it. But people try there best to decide the proper punishment and repetition of the law breakers and victims.

2. Prejudice means to judge someone based on how the look, or any aspect of the person. When people have prejudice they don’t really get to know the person and just judge a book by its cover. Often people who do this aren’t right about how the person really is.

Blog Post #5 - Memoir

I remember it like it was yesterday; I was captivated by the speech as it left my Grandpa Bill’s lips. In his raspy old voice he vividly described images of WWII. I could see it in my mind. Sounds of the tank flooded my ears as I imagined it firing as he described his daring “brush with death”. Loud vibrations rush through me from the roar of the tank as he told me how it drove right over the trench he had been hiding in. Pictures burst into my mind of him climbing out of the trench and rushing the tank from behind. I am filled with anticipation as he described how he pulled the pin from the FRAG grenade, jumped onto the Panzer tank and tossed the grenade into the man hole. A chill ran through my bones as he described how the Nazis screamed, suddenly realizing the unavoidable death that was upon them. I realized that day that my grandpa has been to places I may never go, although he has passed on now; a smile creases my face as I remember sitting there listening to him tell the story. Grandpa Bill’s stories swept me away to places I most likely will never go and thins I would never want to see. He only drove fuel to the troops but the lesson he taught me was that even the little guy counts.

Blog Post #3 - Independent Reading - New Understandings

In reading my book “Sexual Education”  I learned that sex is not just about the physical act that surrounds it. It is about the mixing or blending of two souls. It is also about the inner connections we make with our partner that causes us to share our secrets. I learned alot about feeling and people in general

Blog Post #4 - Text Messaging… Does it help or hinder student writing?

I believe that text messaging doesn’t effect kids writing unless they are texting freaks. You know who im talking about kids who text constantly through out the day. People who have unlimited texting plans and text until there thumbs fall off. I am one of them using your typical lols, brbs, ttyl and so on. Now if people get so caught up in this that they constantly have to stop when there about to write ur instead of your then we have problems. I have caught myself doing this one of twice in my life and went “jesus im dumb.” I believe that texting in moderation will prevent writing problems. But due to many kids doing this its only a matter of time before the txting launguage takes over.

Blog Post #2 - Blogs?What’s a blog?

A blog is like an online diary that everyone can read, it’s a way for people to read your thoughts and feelings on certain subjects. I have heard of blogs before when my dad trys to talk about myspace and tells me i better not be blogging. I am very comfortable with computers having built serveral myself and having a vast knowledge of the inner workings and software that runs on top of the hardware. I typically use my computer for downloading content such as movies, tv, music, games, and using my computer to draft; im very interested in drafting. I have a super computer able to do todays most complicated tasks without hassle. I personally do not care much for writing i find it boring and i dont’t care to do it much. Since i don’t like to write i don’t like a specific type of writing except to talk to people such as any typical teenager using myspace. People are concerned about kids safety on the internet because some kids are really stupid and choose to engage with people they don’t even know, look at Dateline NBC:How to catch a predator; where the revered Chris Hanson catches sick petefiles trying to have sexual relations with young children. The internet is not dangerous a place if you know how to navigate correctly the problem is people these days are idiots and click on everything the say causing spyware and viruses to flood their computer not to mention teenage boys looking at pornographic images causing worlds of troubles, not to mention limewire which not only promotes copyright infringement but also spreads more viruses. My peers generally are surfing myspace, downloading things off limewire, and once again surfing virus filled porn sites. I feel no different knowing that I’ll be using blogs in class because its not a new thing to me.

Blog Post #1 - Independent Reading Book Selection

The book i read was called sexual education, its a book about caring and a love story between two freshman. They find out that sex is not just about the physical action, but more about the mixing and blending of two people. As the story moves on they discover just how much they care about each other and they really start to blend. They share there most deepest thoughts with one another and they begin to become more close to each other proving that sex is not just sex but the emotional exchange of two people. They go way beyond their class assignment of caring about two people the Parkers and go overboard and obsess. This gets them into lots and lots of trouble as you read you believe they are going to have sex but they end up just kissing and caring for one another.
